# Grade 6 Math Worksheets

Grade 6 is consolidation and a first look over the wall. Fractions, decimals and factors get their last heavy practice, equations grow a second step and a letter on both sides, and squares and square roots arrive.

## What to expect

Expect the work to be less about new methods than about choosing between the ones already known. Simplifying √72 needs the largest square factor rather than the first one spotted, and solving 5x − 2 = 3x + 8 needs the terms collected before anything is undone. Both are judgement rather than procedure, and both take practice to become automatic.

## Where to start

Start with whichever of Fractions, Decimals and Factors & Primes is least secure, since grade 6 assumes all three. Squares & Square Roots comes next and leans directly on the factor work. Finish with Solve for x at two steps and then x on both sides, checking every answer by substituting it back — that habit matters more here than the answers do.
