## What to expect

Expect these to feel easier than the arithmetic sheets and to matter just as much. A child who can round 3847 to the nearest hundred can tell that a long-division answer of 38 is wrong before checking it, and one who can factorize 72 has the tool that makes fractions and square roots tractable.

## Where to start

Start with Comparison, which needs nothing but place value, then Rounding, which needs place value to be automatic. Factors & Primes is a step up and is best left until the times table is secure; Squares & Square Roots follows it directly, since simplifying √72 is a factoring question wearing a different symbol.
