How numbers are built rather than what to do with them: which is bigger, what a number rounds to, what it is made of. These sheets are quick to work through and are the ones that make estimation possible.
What to expect
Expect these to feel easier than the arithmetic sheets and to matter just as much. A child who can round 3847 to the nearest hundred can tell that a long-division answer of 38 is wrong before checking it, and one who can factorize 72 has the tool that makes fractions and square roots tractable.
Where to start
Start with Comparison, which needs nothing but place value, then Rounding, which needs place value to be automatic. Factors & Primes is a step up and is best left until the times table is secure; Squares & Square Roots follows it directly, since simplifying √72 is a factoring question wearing a different symbol.
